Don't Believe The H.Y.P.E

Tech Tuesday, Cyber Monday, Black Friday or the Holiday Season are those buzzwords which definitely gets me excited!  Sometimes, retail therapy is the only cure.  It's great for relieving tension - or is that just a fallacy? Does it get your excited?

At the same time, some are already stressing over what to buy for that person they just can't stand. Some are so worried about how much to spend on which relative, which relative is worth getting an expensive gift compared to another.

Now, there are some, who have decided to get into debt for someone else.

Stop! Stop!! Stop!!! Wait a minute.

What I'm not saying isn't that you shouldn't spend. Far from it. What I am saying is that we take a moment or two to stop and have a little think. This year has, and continues to be a totally different year in so so many ways. We definitely deserve to let our hair down a little.

Take a moment to think back a few months ago. We were stuck indoors. We couldn't see our loved ones and families. Our mental health was severely at stake - whilst some are still struggling with their mental health.

I look at it this way, if I was so desperate to spend a little bit more quality time with family, it goes without saying, that, shopping has to be different this year. Time is Money, is a well known saying which I still believe in.

There is absolutely no joy in you stressing and worrying about spending money when you simply do not, or cannot afford to do so. Not forgetting that so many households were hard hit by the lockdown. You deserve to have some time to recover.

Did you ever think that there'd be a day when the single most important piece of item we must N.E.V.E.R. leave home without is a MASK!

I kid you not, my aim is to make this post a lighthearted chit chat.

You are probably wondering, so what do you suggest I do to curb that itch for some in-store retail therapy?

REASONS TO AVOID  IN-STORE RETAIL THERAPY IN 2020
  1. You are safer at home.
  2. The atmosphere and buzz won't be the same.
  3. The parking wardens are still working - they are considered an essential service.
  4. You are likely to forget one very important person on the list.

WHAT CAN YOU TO

  • watch an old movie with you oldest child.
  • think about how stress-free you will feel.
  • bake a cake or two.
The list could on forever. Here is my question to you and I? What was it about our families that we cherished during the lockdown?

Remember, the time we share with our loved ones is more valuable than what we spend on gifts and cards.

Thank you for the read.

Until next time,
Much 💙
Deborah
